Our service is a convenient, easy to use, time-saving solution for delivery/courier/LTL
type of drivers. It's a better, more modern way of receiving important information
from your pickup customers. Best of all, it's FREE to use for both you and
your customers!
How can my customers
start sending me time-saving text messages?
Once you are registered, simply give the customers you want to receive
messages from your User Name and have them go to PackagePickup.com to get
setup to send you messages. If you like, you can click
here to print a flyer to give to your customer(s). Write your
User Name on the flyer so they will know it!
Will it cost my
customers anything to use the Package Pickup service?
No, our service is FREE for you and your customers! There are no fees associated
with our service.
How long does
it take for a message to be received on my cell phone?
Assuming you have signal on your cell phone, it may take up
to 30 seconds for your text message to be received. If you are in a "dead
spot" and have no signal, the message will show up on your phone once
your phone picks up signal again. For this and other reasons, text messages
are far more reliable and convenient than answering phone calls.
Will my cell phone
company charge me for the text messages I get from my customers?
Depending on the service plan you have with your cell phone company, you may
be charged a small fee for receiving text messages. Check with your service
provider.
How does PackagePickup.com
make money offering this service for free?
We hope to have our web site / service at least pay for itself by allowing
simple advertising on the site.
Some of my customers
are not allowed to install the messenger program on the company computer.
Is there still a way for them to send me messages?
YES! Though our messenger program makes it very easy for your customers
to send messages, they can also send messages directly from the PackagePickup.com
web site!
A customer of
mine sent me a message, but I never got it. What happened?
Make sure your customers are entering your user name correctly
when sending messages. Remember, User Names must not contain spaces in them!
Also, user names are NOT case sensitive.
What happens if
I take a day off or go on vacation?
When you take a day off or go on vacation, you can:
1. Login
to PackagePickup.com and update your cell phone number to show "000-000-0000".
Messages will no longer arrive on your cell phone.
2. If you know which fill-in driver is going to be
doing your route, you can enter their cell phone number in the settings of
your account and the messages will go to their cell phone instead.
3. Urge the fill-in driver to get their own Package
Pickup account and your customers can send that driver messages directly.
4. Do nothing and know that the fill-in driver will still
be going to your pickup accounts, checking for a pickup the old fashion way.
